Science CLassroom Project
Science Classroom Project (June, 2012)
The Science Investigation Classroom was a lab practice session designed to foster scientific interest among the local students at Qing Pu migrant elementary school by conducting fun lab activities. Through this session, students "learned science by doing".
Behind Story:
In January of this year, Mr. Wang, a sixth-grade science teacher at Qing Pu migrant school, emphasized that the students could only learn science through textbooks, and he believes that learning science through textbooks is very limiting. Even though they are shown pictures of test tubes and microscopes on their textbooks, they do not have the opportunity to use any of those tools in school, due to the lack of a science laboratory. He also stressed that their scientific knowledge is very shallow.
